I can't help it. I find stories like this absolutely delightful. They are nonsense, a bit of fluff, but every time I come across one of these gems by AT, Bush I just smile for the rest of the day. When You Leave Home is definitely a "type" of story written by this author, and they seem to follow a pattern. Quite often they turn on a well-known saying, or a not-quite-believable story, and they always include a hot. closely-detailed sex scene, I once read someone's comments that AT. Bush can write more sex more sexily than any other author and I have to agree. Her sex scenes always seem so effortless, and very pleasurable to read. What do you think Spock did to support himself while he was at Starfleet Academy? McCoy gets a letter from an old friend giving the details, and the CMO promptly tells Kirk, who cant wait to get the rest of the details from his lover. Turns out that "Oodles Delights/ a stripjoint near the Academy had use of Spock's musical skills. But one night, he got a little more personally involved with one of the ecdysiasts — Trust Spock to know the technical term for a stripper. I had to look it up in the dictionary to confirm!
