In the Sherlock fandom, Vamplock refers to a type of AU where the titular character Sherlock Holmes is a vampire. This AU is popular in fanfiction, where Sherlock is often depicted alongside a Werewolf!John Watson. Though Johnlock is an popular pairing in Vamplock fanfics, Sherlolly and Sherstrade are gaining a growing fanbase in the medium.
Blood is a common motif within fanart and manips, the latter often depicting Sherlock with red eyes and sharp teeth. In addition, Johnlock fanart involving biting and blood drinking often with sexual connotations also exist.
Omegle and Tumblr Vamplock roleplay is also popular. Omegle roleplays are typically slow-building, with the reveal that Sherlock is a vampire occurring later on in the RP.
Sometimes Vamplock is also used as a blanket-term for Sherlock fanfiction involving vampiric characters such as Molly or Mycroft, instead of fanfics based solely around vampire Sherlock Holmes.
