Welcome! It's great to see more things added, and from first hand knowledge of the zine. IMO photos are definitely better than no picture at all, and it's cool to get impressions of interior art as well. And I agree that having page numbers is useful.--RatCreature 17:28, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
- I think I've found how to reply to this, let's see if it works :-D In any case, thanks for the welcome! --Mary 02:46, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
Hello! Glad to see you're here. I love interior art - what I've been doing for zines with extensive art and a lot of artists is pick one image per artist to give a broader overview. Of course, with some artists it *is* harder to pick just one. But this allows me to include lesser well known artists. --Morgandawn 17:45, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
- Admirable goal! I'm afraid most of the pictures I took were to send to one of my friend to persuade her to buy zines because they were so pretty, so I only have pics of my very favorite zine art....which tends to be the same artists more often than not. But once I'm done posting what I already have, maybe I can go through my zines again and see if there isn't stuff by other, yet unlisted artists :). --Mary 02:52, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
- I want to add my thank you, and welcome. I'm glad you're here. --Mrs. Potato Head 03:10, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
- I love this page number, and other work, you're doing. :-) --Mrs. Potato Head 02:52, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you! Just doing my best with what I have ;) I love what YOU are doing with all those cover scans from UofI. Holy cow! That's one hell of a big job to do, but the site will be all the richer for it.--Mary 14:53, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- Doing the best with what we have is always a good thing! My pilgrimage to Iowa City was quite an adventure: two weeks of dogged determination in sometimes scary weather rewarded me with 2800+ scans and photos, and much more ... Thank you, Mary, for putting the art on the artists' pages. It's an important step that I sometimes forget. --Mrs. Potato Head 00:46, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- You're welcome! I was waiting for my latest pics to load on my computer and was looking for something to do in the meantime. ;) I actually wasn't quite sure if I should do it or not because I didn't want to step on your toes or anything... in the end I did it but made sure to write a note so you'd be aware of it :). And wow, 2800 pages of scans? I really admire your determination! --Mary 02:18, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- Never, ever be worried about toe-stepping. It's just super that you're adding info, and if we "run into" each other, we'll sort it out. That's the wiki-way. ;-) --Mrs. Potato Head 02:27, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
You've got all sorts of treasures: what a super cover, (Those Who Believe), you added. Do you think it's a sehlat? If so, you could add it to the sehlat page. --Mrs. Potato Head 19:59, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you! Yes, it's a sehlat; it's been a while since I read the zine, but I remember it was a female who sort of "adopted" Jim like she would an errant cub :-D I added the cover to the sehlat page right away; thanks for telling me! I didn't know sehlats had their own page so I would never have thought of it. And I was pretty excited myself when I realized I had one last cover I could bring to the site!! You probably know that feeling well ;) It's only a photocopy but again, better than no cover at all. As far as sehlats go, I seem to remember a very nice illo in Archives #1 for Lorrah's Domestic Scene with sehlat, with a young Spock sitting on Sarek's knees and I-Chaya sleeping at their feet. I'll see if I can upload it.--Mary 05:06, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
I'm so glad you're clarifying all these artists, Monroe mary. Keeping you specifically in mind: I've been religiously adding page counts... :-) --Mrs. Potato Head 02:05, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- Yes I noticed and I was all "Yay!" :-D Informaiton like that is so helpful when you want to buy a zine. For now I think I've pretty much gone through all the anthologies I had, so I'll try to do a little work here and there on artists and maybe missing wikilinks when I have the time. Thanks for correcting the title of In The Shade by the way!--Mary 02:16, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Welcome Back!
Yay! It's great to have you back, Mary. :) --MPH (talk) 20:32, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
- That's so nice of you to say so :)! I'm glad to be back as well. I actually came back because I recently started updating one of the fanfic rec lists on my blog (hadn't been in over a year), and I saw yesterday there had been traffic coming in from Fanlore. So I followed the link and saw that excerpts from my K/S rec list had been quoted here in the fan reaction sections to some classic fics! I was very flattered - and a bit alarmed, as that list hadn't been updated in over a year either (and I had only gone halfway through a major revision of it then) and it was a complete mess, so I spent last night doing some emergency editing and filling up on it :D. Was it you who chose to quote my list? I know you do a lot of the editing here, but I haven't had time to check through the history of the pages to see who added the content. I would never have dared consider my tiny reviews worthy of figuring here! I took it as a very nice compliment. By the way, I also recently started rifling through my Trek zines as well, so I'll probably check Fanlore listings in the coming months and see if there's any information I could add in then. And it's amazing how this site has grown and filled up since 5 years ago, wow! --Mary (talk) 21:25, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
- I enjoy your comments about the fic, Mary, and was happy to reference them. I'm also glad to know people are reading them here and then heading on over to your site. Yeah, there's lots more on Fanlore about many topics, K/S zines one of them; as you've deduced, I, and others, have been hard at work! Looking forward to seeing you on the Recent Changes page. --MPH (talk) 23:24, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
