Lady Norbert wandered onto the internet when she started college in the fall of 1994, and it's all gone pretty much downhill since then. She adopted the handle, in honor of Hagrid's dragon from Harry Potter, in 1999 and has been using it reasonably consistently from that point on. Yes, she is old.
Fannish History
Lady Norbert has written several pieces of fanfiction, many of which are ridiculously long. Depending on who you ask, she is best known either for her LXG series, "The Private Diary of Elizabeth Quatermain," or her Fullmetal Alchemist series, the "Elemental Chess Trilogy." She has occasionally been mistaken for Hiromu Arakawa, although she has a hard time believing that. She has dabbled in roleplay for a number of fandoms online, and was a regular participant in the (now defunct) weekly competitions at LiveJournal's FMA fic contest. One of her Legend of Zelda fanfics was adapted into a podcast on Tumblr, and the Heart of Hearing Fanfiction Theater is working on adapting her Fullmetal Alchemist/Ouran High School Host Club crossover into a recorded performance.
A master list of all of Lady Norbert's fanworks can be found on this page.
On the non-fiction side of fandom, she is the founder and Knight-Commander of the Internet Order of the Knights of Fandom, a Tumblr-based organization dedicated to uniting members of various fandoms against cyberbullying. She is also a fully fledged member of the Organization for Transformative Works, when she remembers to pay her dues. She can be often found attending Zenkaikon in the spring, in the Philadelphia area, where for the last few years she has been a regular presenter.
Non-Fan Writing
Under her real name, Lady Norbert is a former contributor to Indie Game Magazine and has a byline on a number of other publications, both on and offline. She also spends an unhealthy amount of time on TV Tropes.
Miscellaneous
In private life, Lady Norbert has been married for more than ten years to possibly the most tolerant man in the known universe. She is fairly easily identified by her sesquipedalian tendencies and occasionally by her eyepatch.
She's very grateful to her friends and her readers for all of their support and encouragement, and to the makers of FanLore for providing this website for fans all around the world.
