Games are one of many convention activities.
They are usually light-hearted and involve nominal, if any prizes. Some games are fandom specific and created just for the occasion such as "Cockroach Races" at SHareCon. Others games use existing models, such as "Pin the Tail" on [insert character name] or "Jeopardy" using fandom material. Many games are an opportunity to test fans' knowledge of show-related trivia, both canon and fanon.
Convention games are different things than the activity in which fans game at conventions as a planned, or spontaneous, activity. See Gaming at Conventions.
