torch's recommendations is one of the early multi-fandom rec pages (and perhaps one of the first to explicitly state it was "recommendations" rather than reviews?). It was created on October 16, 1997,[1] and posted 17 recs in 1997, for X-Files and The Sentinel.[2] Recommendations are broken down into individual pages by year.

There're more fannish rec pages all the time, and I think it's a great thing. Find someone with tastes either similar to yours -- or diametrically opposed -- and let them do all the work finding stories. [...] torch hosts a wonderful multimedia one (weighted heavily towards Phantom Menace, X-Files, Highlander and vampire stories).
