Tom Smith is a filker known for his wide range of humorous parodies, as well as original works. He is best known for the song "It's Talk Like a Pirate Day", which has since become the official anthem of International Talk Like a Pirate Day. He is a popular performer at conventions, including MARCon, WindyCon, and Dragon*Con.
Smith describes himself as "Weird Al with more books, JoCo with more jokes",[1] The winner of fourteen Pegasus Awards, he was inducted into the Filk Hall of Fame in 2005.
