Travel the world with the cast and crew of Ticket to Ride as they explore the wide open dangerous spaces of Kenya ('Diamonds are Temporary') and have a run in with some would be bank robbers turned kidnappers in Edinburg, Scotland ('The Pleasure of His Company'). Eighty pages of laughter, adventure, and romance, including a pretty damn keen episode guide, artwork and cover by Ann Larimer, and a free postcard. [1]
Do you enjoy clever writing, madcap situations, long for the absurd comedy-romances of the '40s, and not take anything too seriously? Then you obviously watched A Fine Romance (which had a brief run of seven episodes on ABC and was called Ticket to Ride in England because a different show had run under the title A Fine Romance not too long before). If you were unfortunate, you missed the adventures of Michael Trent and Louisa Phillips, once man and wife and cohosts of an international syndicated travelog program. Ticket to Ride. In the pilot, Michael s bride-to-be is kidnapped, trussed up, has amnesia and believes herself to be a World War I British spy, and is married to his replacement cohost. ..all because of his ex-wife's engraving a tuba as a wedding gift. Add a director, a girl Friday,' and some of the most beautiful scenery you'l ever see, and you've got a show!
Ticket to Read is the second of our one-shot wonders, created in the unconventional style of Penguin Press. Contents include; "Diamonds Are Temporary" by Jane Tesh Louisa has been given a big rock which she's been told is a famous cursed diamond called 'The Star of Mombassa," Michael refuses to wear a pith helmet, and a balloon and a baboon cause problems for everyone, all in deepest, darkest Africa, and "The Pleasure of His Company" by Sandra J. McHale—The Ticket To Ride coverage of a live choir performance in Dublin is marred by the kidnapping of Michael Trent (the terrorists would have taken Louisa, but couldn't handle her big mouth). Will Michael survive his kidnapping and Louisa's attempts to rescue him from the clutches of a beautiful terrorist? And what about the prediction of a guest psychic that involves Michael, Louisa, and a wedding ring? Not to mention the lavish episode guide, seriously offset printed cool cover and artwork by Ann Larimer, and freebie postcard (yes-we made a zine we hope you'll enjoy enough to write home about!). 80 pages of fun, travel, romance, and French rabbits! All for only $9.00 (FC). Really.
So, order today from the Penguin Press address. We'll be waiting. And don't worry — we believe you would have swerved, too.

They 've done it again. This time the short-lived series is A Fine Romance, the zine. Ticket to Read. And they've done it for only $5.00 a copy (in person). Good fiction, beautiful art, a cover to die for, interior layout that's a graphic artist's dream. Is this starting to sound familiar? Get it. [2]
