Spoiler Warning: This article or section may contain spoilers. If this bothers you, proceed with caution.

In Network Effect, Three is the only Barish-Estranza SecUnit to survive the fight aboard the B-E Explorer. Murderbot 2.0 subverts its governor module, granting it the same freedom as Murderbot. Three is still alive at the end of the novel.

Fandom

Tropes and fanon

  • Three as a chef:
  • Post-Network effect: since Three's circumstances and fate are left undetermined at the end of Network Effect, there are many different fanworks presenting different stories for what Three might do after the events of the novel. Popular options include: staying with ART, seeking asylum in Preservation, or making its own way in the galaxy (similar to Murderbot in books 2-4).
  • Construct liberation: combined with any of the above post-NE story directions, tropes of Three working to free other constructs and bots from Corporation servitude
  • Distinction from Murderbot: since Three is the only SecUnit POV seen in the series beside the titular Murderbot (so far at least), a lot of fanwork is interested in exploring how Three differs from Murderbot, in terms of personality, preferences, feelings about its lack of agency and status as property in the Corporation Rim, and long-term goals
