A slight twist to the problems facing Kirk and Spock's being together. Not completely original, but comparatively seldom used. My favorite parts of the story were the attractive race of people she dreamed up, especially their flying dragons. This was one of those stories that required only a modest love scene, and that's just what the author gave it. A good happy ending.

Despite Kirk's melancholy mood through much of this tale, I found this to be an upbeat, engrossing story. What I liked most was the strong sense of setting. I felt like I was there -- and in no hurry to leave, as I appreciated the goodness of the Valerian people. If I have any complaint it's only that I wish Isandre's and Fadrian's relationship would have been announced more dramatically; i.e., not just in passing as part of a single sentence. An excellent, touching bit of writing and easily the best story in the zine. This is the type of story I would like to see more of.
