Laura, pregnant with Jeremiah's child? The mysterious stranger from France? Or someone even closer to the family?"
Reactions and Reviews
From a review in The Collins Mausoleum #3: "Lori Paige’s The Year the Fire Came ...re-figured the romantic rivalry between young Barnabas and Jeremiah with Laura the Phoenix as the nexus of their passion. Paige introduced vivid new characters in this story and even successfully incorporated a werewolf. Beautifully executed throughout, The Year the Fire Came has a climatic battle scene so thrilling and eerily moving that it sticks with a reader long after. An extra bonus, this novel was enhanced within by illustrations by Cindy Jorgensen, using a wood block print style deliberately evocative of the late 1700s."
