The Way I Am is a JC/Eminem slash series by NSyncGrrl.
Recs and Reviews
The Way I Am [...] started the whole wave of Eminem slash from what I've been told. It was written before I was into slash in general, let alone Eminem slash. I've read it now though, and it's a great story. The pairing is Eminem/JC, and even though that pairing does NOTHING for me, I still got completely sucked into this story.[1]
Dissatisfied with his life and his friends, JC searches for something different, and finds it in...Eminem. What starts a series of unplanned encounters eventually becomes something more than either of them expected.[2]
Check out The Way I Am by NSyncGrrl, a series of slash stories featuring JC Chasez (of 'N Sync) and Eminem. Yeah, whoa, right? But I'll tell you what -- I enjoyed these stories, although I don't know anything about 'N Sync. These stories are well-written, funny, and smart, and that counts for a lot with me. They're mostly PWPs, but they have a real nice emotional undertone to them. I read a couple of these stories and then I couldn't seem to stop -- I had to read them all.[3]
Nsyncgrrl was the author who introduced me to slash and fandom. I found her stories 10 years ago and haven't looked back. This is an unusual pairing, but one that works in the context of the story. It's a hookup that leads to a relationship that somehow makes sense. Also hot sex. ;)[4]
