The Trials of Apollo is a five-book series spin-off of Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Heroes of Olympus, written by Rick Riordan. There is also a one-shot continuation, The Sun and the Star, which follows Will Solace and Nico di Angelo. The Trials of Apollo follows the story of the recently-turned-mortal Apollo on a quest to regain his godhood with his demigod companion master, Meg McCaffrey. The series is told first-person present tense from Apollo's perspective, and begins six months after the end of Heroes of Olympus.
Canon
The Trials of Apollo are told through five books: The Hidden Oracle, The Dark Prophecy, The Burning Maze, The Tyrants Tomb, and The Tower of Nero. In order to regain his godhood, Apollo must complete a series of quests to regain control over his Oracles, ending with a final confrontation with Python, his age-old enemy.
