The Trail to Oregon! is an original comedy musical created by Team StarKid. It follows the story of a pioneer family and their journey to Oregon in the style of the Oregon Trail video game. It was written by Nick Lang, Matt Lang, Jeff Blim, and Brian Holden, with music and lyrics by Jeff Blim and Drew DeFour.[1]
The show was performed at the same time as ANI: A Parody. It originally ran from July 3rd to August 10th, 2014, at Stage 773 in Chicago, Illinois. It was also taken to Cherry Lane Theatre off-Broadway in New York City from May 26 to May 31, 2015.[2] This was the first time a StarKid show received a full production in New York City.
The Trail to Oregon! was also performed off West End by the University of Southampton's touring theater group, Gone Rogue. It also had a run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August of 2018.[3]
The show is available for licensing on Starkid's website, alongside Twisted and Firebringer. Like Firebringer, it has an all ages version that cuts swearing and sexual references. [4]
