Summary from a flyer:
"The Talisman Part One:Warrior of Light" is the first novel in a three part trilogy (each novel a complete story in itself). The major character of the novels will be, Qui Gon Jinn, from the time before he entered the Jedi Academy to beyond the movie (the "death" of Qui Gon will be properly dealt with). The first story covers Qui Gon from age 5 to 14. Tiger Tyger has managed to flesh out the characters to such a point the reader will experience the emotions each character goes through. Original characters become as familiar as the canon figures from the movie. This novel lays a basis for Qui Gon's personality as it tells of the loss of his family at age 5, his entrance in the Jedi Academy, how he becomes Yoda's padawan, attacks from the dark side and his academy training. This first novel only hints at a slash relationship between two secondary characters. Qui Gon does not enter into a relationship until the second novel as he is too young in the first. [1]
Summary:
Orphaned by assassins sent to destroy the "Chosen One," a young boy named Jinn finds himself alone among powerful strangers. Though born with a strong affinity for the Living Force, Jinn quickly learns that potential is not enough to protect him from dangers both within and without the Coruscant temple.
Issue 2
Part Two: Warrior of Truth is slash. It was published in May 2007 and contains 100 pages.
An age statement was required for purchase. This issue contains no interior illustrations.
Summary:
In this installment of the series, Qui-Gon Jinn must face many challenges, beginning with rescuing his master from his wreckage on a force-null planet, endure his Trial, and learn much during his early years as a Knight. Along the way, he maintains his friendships with Yoda, Master Soningar Yu, Master Healer Tess, and his best friend, Her'an Storn. He also must come to terms with his own issues with love, his feelings about the loss of Rix, his troubled friendship with Mace Windu, as well as his sexuality.
The author's note:
ALONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY
...there was a great disturbance in the Force. It started early in 2001, Old Earth Calendar, when I was inspired (cajoled, pimped) into writing The Talisman, a little story about the little Jedi who could. I was pleased by the many kind responses to my vision of the training of young Jedi, namely Qui-Gon Jinn. It has been six years since I visited the temple on Coruscant and I was astonished to find Qui-Gon had grown up in the ensuing years, all without my help. As is common in fan fiction, Qui-Gon had taken on a life of his own. In his force-ful manner, he came to me insisting it was time to continue the Talisman Trilogy. Who was I to refuse the call of the Jedi?
