The Suicide Squad is a live-action 2021 superhero film in the DC Extended Universe about the DC Comics team of villains/antiheroes called the Suicide Squad. It is a standalone sequel to the 2016 Suicide Squad (film).
Canon
After the events of the previous film, Amanda Waller once again forms Task Force X, a "Suicide Squad" made up of incarcerated supervillains, to go on a classified mission in the island nation of Corto Maltese for the US government.
