Most Influential Authors of the 1990s

The following list represents your votes for the top authors of the past decade. Authors are not ranked 1-10 but listed alphabetically instead. In addition, commentary from the fans about each author is placed next to the author's name.

Author Comment
Zen Reading a fanfic of Zen's is like watching a DVD, inside the story there is a technicolor sub-narration of the events. Zen has the ability to beat poetry with proza. He writes slower than my CBM printer, but it's worth it. Besides, you gotta love someone that refers to himself in the third person seriously.
John Walter Biles The master of the epic, Biles has captivated us all since the dawn of the Ranma fanfic. He pioneered the long form, introduced the meaningful crossover, can write in both comedy and dramatic styles, and was one of the first to introduce the funny review, as well. There are so many references to him in other writers' works that you at least know him by reputation, if not the quality of his work.
Paul Gallegos Unlike TV, where you watch what is shown to you, Paul has the ability to put us inside the story and let us look AROUND. (in 3D!) Along with David Tai, his efforts in the "Daigakusei no Ranma/Ukyou" series have created an inspiring and heartfelt episodic continuation of Takahashi's best-loved series.
Jeff Hosmer From his first all-girl fic "Girls' Night Out" to his numerous crossovers to his darker and edgier fics like "Lies," Jeff has written some of the more well-known and respected fics in the past decade. He can manipulate his plots to bring you into the character's innermost thoughts, something not done as well by anyone else.
Richard Lawson Burst onto the fanfiction scene relatively recently, but his works "Thy Inward Love" and "Thy Outward Part" are arguably some of the best fics ever. His work is thought-provoking and well-written, proving that style can make a difference.
Joseph Palmer Meaningful, insightful, precise - three words that come to mind when Palmer's name is mentioned. Palmer has proved that you can write an absoultely wonderful romantic fanfic without being overly cheesy or fake.
Krista Perry Perry's work, "Hearts of Ice," has a way of hijacking your senses and your sensibilities for however long it takes you to read the next segment. Her tight plotting is an inspiration to any future fan fic writers.
Gregg Sharp Originator of "The Bet," which has inspired and influenced Ranma fanfic writing to a massive degree. Before Sharp, no one used the alternate universe concept nearly as well as now. He has significantly changed the way fanfics will be written from now on.
David Tai His work with Paul Gallegos, Jeff Hosmer and John Biles has created one of the most widely known series around ("Daigakusei no Ranma/Ukyou"). This fic has redefined the continuation genre as we know it. Tai's work with the Pokemon crossovers earns him the distinction of being one the best co-authors of the decade.
J. Austin Wilde Wilde's epics, while not Bilesque in proportion, have recharged the Alternate universe that is Ranma fanfiction. He has brought a level of epic realism to the Ranma fanfic genre that is often imitated, but never matched.
