Fan Comments
Meaningful, insightful, precise - three words that come to mind when Palmer's name is mentioned. Palmer has proved that you can write an absoultely wonderful romantic fanfic without being overly cheesy or fake.
Palmer is a runaway winner in the Best Writer and Best Romance categories. His prose is elegant: simple and unpretentious yet enormously expressive; rather like poetry. I thought about quoting some of my favorite passages, but taking them out of their well-formed contexts would be unjust. The imagery is vivid and, although the extended similes in Winter are a little forced, the author keeps getting better as the seasons pass.Taleswapper[1]
Listing Palmer among the runners-up is like leaving Michael Jordan off the all-star team. As ever, I recognize, I celebrate the lofty status of his writing style and the poignancy of his story, so simple but so universally relevant to every heart that loves. Excellence of this sort is undeniable. And yet some of the qualities that set Autumn far apart from other Ranma fanfics have paradoxically diminished the story in my flailing, earnest attempt to choose with conviction a single favorite Ranma fanfic of 1996. For "Autumn's" sole perceptible flaw is that it is not "Spring" or "Summer," which stories I prefer and rate as superior works.Taleswapper[2]
