Reactions and Reviews
1991
This story had an interesting premise but its execution was uneven. I didn't really see the need for the detective, other than as a reference. Spock and Kirk could have found McCoy by themselves, but, I guess, that would have been a different story. What it comes down to is: I just didn't like the detective's personality. [1]
A plot! Love plots! McCoy disappears. Why? McCoy doesn't make enemies. Kirk goes to police. During the search for McCoy, handsome policeman decides Kirk is lonely and he is just what the Captain needs. Spock decides if Kirk needs a MAN... Well, try it, you'll like it too! [2]
1992
McCoy disappears planetside and Kirk sets out to find hia with the aid of an over-amorous policeman with designs on the Captain. Spock gets to learn of said designs and a wonderful possessive jealousy rears its fascinating head. We told, well plotted, a most enjoyable read. [3]
An interesting kidnapping piot and a definite rival in the form of Royad to help get the K/S relationship moving. Well fleshed out story although I found the idea of Natira's sad end was a bit shaky. [4]
