It was published in the print zine First Time #48.
Summary
"'A native of a new contact planet recalls how Kirk and Spockʼs visit to his planet became the stuff of legend."
Reactions and Reviews
A very unusual story of Kirk and Spock on a diplomatic mission to an alien planet and encountering one of the natives there. The alien (to K. and S.) is frightened of them, yet they are woven into the peoples’ mythology. A really clever situation follows after McCoy implants a translator into the alien. They all become friends and travel around the villages and communicate with the people. There’s a portrait that Spock had painted of Kirk that shows how much he loves him. Although I really wanted to see that portrait more and I didn’t understand its being hidden behind a wall. Also, a good characterization of McCoy and how he cares for the alien and watches after Kirk and Spock.[1]
