Summary

Gabriel Agreste first hears about the pharaoh parable while attending a funeral feeling empty and defeated. Due to his inability to self reflect, his interpretation of it leads to risky and irrational decisions.

On the other hand, Nathalie has always been a sensible woman. That doesn't mean, however, she doesn't have her own things to realize.

Reception

By July 2020, The English version of The Pharaoh Parable had 43 comments, and the Ukrainian version had 3 comments, the majority of which were positive. A few are included below:

So far I only read the first chapter, but I see that the comment section can’t have enough positivity so here we go!

Your writing style is very refined and beautiful. You are very talented and should be proud.

Gabriel’s thought process throughout the chapter was flowing perfectly, and I laughed when he was trying to find a reason for Nathalie’s actions other than love, because that’s just so him.

“Midnight Mayura, I give you the power to build from multiple emotions at the same time. Now nothing limits your creativity.” This is SUCH A GOOD IDEA!! It’s like her version of Scarlet Moth—too bad she can’t sustain it

Probably my favorite piece of this is the language. This has a very special flow to it that is clear, but at the same time, rich with symbolism. The style can't help but draw you in. I appreciated the insights into these characters, and though I didn't understand all the references, I did understand the characters' points of view on those references, which I believe is the important piece. I think this has lovely balance. I can see Gabriel's prickliness and Nathalie's aversion to vulnerability, but I can also see the ways in which they yearn for each other. The tension is lovely.

--MyMayura on Chapter 2

Oh that was exquisite! This is my favorite style of writing, and the characterization is to die for. I think this might be my favorite piece of fanfiction I’ve ever read. Tremendous work!
