The Music Box is a gen anthology that includes fiction, art, poetry and fan news. It is named for the music box owned by the character Josette.

According to a 1993 ad in Inside the Old House, it came out three times a year.

The Music Box 1 was published in 1991.

"... approximately 48 large pages.there is a sketch of Josettes room on the front cover.Josette's portrait and a music box on the table.there's an article about Dark Shadows fans writing to the Syfy channel and convincing them to put Dark Shadows on the air.there's an article called my new memories of Dark Shadows.Stories about the origin of music boxes.A history of the music box.interesting story called The Miracle in which Maggie Evans and Joe Haskell finally get together. and they marry.there is a story called do you have a Collinwood in your neighborhood?there are several photos of the Pittock Mansion. Quotable quotes Naomi Collins having a stern conversation with Reverend Trask also conversation between Desmond and Flora. And a conversation between Quentin and Magda. Recipes from the Collinwood cookbook. Story- Destiny in Jade. About Barnabas and Julia, several pages. Dialogue between Barnabas and Josette and then between Barnabas and Rachel. There's a sketch of Barnabas and one of Victoria Winters. There are a number of pages showing photos taken directly from the TV. And the story called the most precious gift. It deals with Barnabas and Josette and the music box. A poem called devil in the mirror with two sketches of Humbert Allen astredo. And a TV photo him looking in the mirror sneak preview of the story a matter of trust. There are close to 10 pages of advertisements offering Dark Shadows books and memorabilia for sale. A full-page portrait of Joan Bennett from 1966 saying that she had died in 1990. Back cover has a very interesting sketch of Barnabas outside it looks like he's being snowed on."
