Reactions and Reviews

I just reread the piece and the rhythm and poetry are so moving. I just had to tell you what I enjoyed about it this time through.

"Everything Jim did was beautiful; when he walked down the corridors of his starship, his careful forceful walk left longing in its wake."

You can hear the rhythm of his walk in careFUL forceFUL walk. There's no comma between the adjectives because there's no pause to that pulsing stride. And the repeated "careFUL forceFUL" makes me think of what part of his anatomy comes to the forefront in that dynamic walk: now I'm thinking about that FULL package. I see him walking and I'm thinking about walking and so I'm not looking at his eyes or shoulders or hands. It's the movement from his feet to his pelvis involved in walking & once I get to his pelvis, my attention is held.

And then the next paragraph ends: "There were caresses of the mouth they could also enjoy; they could even penetrate one another.

He flushed again.

Spock..."

The physical construction of this part of the text just makes me gasp. I'm reading this hot story, imagining those soft caresses evoked by the sibilant esses, tumbling onward past the semicolon to the very act of penetration and there's the period and then white space. I'm halted here-4here's a drop off, I'm in freefall and I invariably catch my breath every time I get here.

And then I read "He flushed again." and I'm thinking back to the first time he flushed in this stay (right before that wonderful walk) and that gasp I just did just makes me feel the blood in my own face.

Brava! [1]
