The Art
The back cover is by Mariann Howarth and the front cover is by Lynne Alysse Witten. Interior art by Lynne Alysse Witten and Peggy Spalding. It was called issue #1, but there are no others.
The zine has this statement: "Unaccredited art has been borrowed from other sources, changed slightly, but not enough to claim any sort of credit."
From the Zine's Creator
From the zine:
This zine is not quite what I envisioned or intended when I started out to do a STAR WARS zine. I'd hoped for something much longer, with more stories in it, from more different people, and, well, just more of everything. The reasons why it didn't happen are far too numerous to mention, and don't matter anyway. THE FORCE WHISPERER is what it is, and I'm proud of it, as it is.
I've been a STAR WARS fan ever since I saw the first movie the night it opened in Lubbock, Texas. I was working my first job out of college and had not been that excited about a movie since about age 8. (Just how long that had been, we won't go into.) When the Special Editions came out this year, I found that all the magic and excitement was still there. While still drunk with excitement, and definitely not in my right senses, I decided to put out a zine. I further decided to get it out in time for Media West 1997. As you can see, sanity never returned, so here's the zine. I want to thank all of the contributors (Mariann Howarth, Karen Robertson, and Peggy Spalding) to THE FORCE WHISPERER, and a great big THANK YOU to Sharon Dickerson for letting me borrow her STAR WARS tapes and play them into not-quite oblivion.
Finally, I do plan to publish again, so if you'd like to contribute, send it along! (I'm hoping to make the next one full sized, so there's no need to make anything small!)
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH US ALL!!!
