The Dreamer Returns is a het Beauty and the Beast anthology edited by Kiki Cavanaugh.
Issue 1
The Dreamer Returns 1 was published in 1990 and contains 155 pages. It has much art by Rita Terrell and Anna Deavers. The cover is by Lisa Stubblefield. All the stories were written by Kiki Cavanaugh.
Vincent and Catherine agonize during their honeymoon.[1]
This is an anthology of 5 stories. In one story, Vincent awakes from a coma to discover 3rd season was just a bad dream. In another, Vincent and Catherine decide to marry. Elliot appears.[2]

Reactions and Reviews: Issue 1
If read in order, the stories are an arc.If read with a certain perspective, the first story, Those She Left Behind - which seems to follow 3rd Season's canon - seems more an alternative 3rd season story. Catherine does seem dead; Jacob has been returned to his father and the tunnels; Vincent is close to madness. Diana appears as a friend to Vincent, albeit with an unrequited love for him.
The second story, The Nightmare or the Dream, says it all in the title. Was it true, Catherine's death? Or only a terrible dream. Vincent falls into a coma after the events of the first story, but wakes to find ... 🙂
Elliot Burch appears in the story The Meeting of the Men.
In another story, Vincent and Catherine decide to marry (so ... the question of the second story is answered). [3]
Issue 2
The Dreamer Returns 2 was published in October 1991 and contains 127 pages. It has the subtitle, "The Dream Weaver."
The art is by Lisa Stubblefield (front cover), Bev Chick, and Kriss Farver.

This zine contains 4 Classic stories. In 'Until We Meet Again,' Vincent finds his mother - who wants some grandkidsl Catherine also shops until she drops in 'Shopping.' Father, Joe and Elliot appear. Catherine and Vincent plan to marry and/or consummate their love in the stories. [4]
