Reactions and Reviews

Dr. McCoy, while looking through a medical journal discovers an article that is looking for volunteers for a field experiment. These volunteers should be Vulcan-non Vulcan hybrids & the experiment has to do with "relieving" Pon Farr. And so "The Day of the Guinea Pig" is off to a start. It seems that Spock had already heard of the experiment & was greatly interested in being one of the guinea pigs. The results of the experiment are definitely not what anyone would expect, especially coming from Spock. [1]

Testing a new pon farr-relieving drug on Spock, from McCoy’s pov. It seems to keep Spock sane but very sexy, and he chases everything in a skirt - quite successfully. [2]

'The Day of the Guinea Pig' finds Spock approaching pon farr (again!) and Dr. McCoy is determined to help him through the time with a new medical discovery. The resulting Spock, a flagrant skirt-chaser, is something McCoy could not have predicted, but something that sets the light, somewhat flippant tone of the whole story. [3]
