"I just finished reading "The Chosen One", a longish short story by Sara Henry

(in the Paper Library). It is a very energetic story where Bodie, a space sailor, arrives to an alien planet where he meets native Doyle and many adventures. The writing was ok, with some problems of grammar and style, but a lot of narrative energy. What really intrigued me was the setting, as it involves a strange religion with prophecies and mysteries; and the ending, as it indicates that a great many more events will follow in Bodie and Doyle's future (It is not truncated, but it leaves the future open minus some tantalising touches). So now I have two questions:

1. is the background setting from some science fiction book/universe?

2. is there a sequel somewhere?"
