Alternate Shadows was a Dark Shadows fan club headquartered in Ithaca, New York.
In 1983, 1984, and 1985 the club sponsored the Manhattan Shadows convention and published the zine The Parallel Times.
From a 1983 announcement:
THE ALTERNATE SHADOWS (formally the New York Branch of the International Dark Shadows Society) has announced the dissolvement of its affiliation with IDSS. Their newsletters, formally Apple Shadows, is now called The Parallel Times. Information can be obtained from Patrick L. Garrison [address redacted]. If you're in the NY area, this is the place to get all the latest local information. If you're not int the area, there will be much of interest in the newsletters to you, as well. SASE for info.
