Remember Commander Octopus? Well, he’s back along with Detective Starfish to form the Aquatic Duo. You can thank fic_kitty for the silly drawing she posted that made me LOL. This was supposed to only be a couple of pages of coda to Commander Octopus, but it grew.

Why we love it: This fic transcends genres. It is crack but romantic. It has adventure and humor. And best of all there is hurt/comfort between an octopus and a starfish. It isn’t easy to write such complex and emotionally moving crack but cattraine has managed it yet again here. Her characters are spot on and the emotions are very real. If you are wary of crack you still ought to give this one a try. It might surprise you.[1]
