The Fifth Wave is a book trilogy by Rick Yancey. This trilogy includes: The Fifth Wave (2013), The Infinite Sea (2014), and The Last Star (2016). The Fifth Wave was made into a movie in 2016, which was directed by J Blakeson.
Canon
The book follows Cassie in search of her missing little brother Sam after an alien invasion that has wiped out most of humanity. The Invasion comes in five waves.
Summary
From IMDB: Four waves of increasingly deadly alien attacks have left most of Earth decimated. Cassie is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother.
