Thank You

The editor thanks three people for their help with this zine:

  • Michael Macomber for doing the zine's layout
  • John Brew for the photos and being a good traveling partner
  • "and my partner, Sheelagh Wells, without whom this project would never have gotten off the ground. Sheelagh arranged many of the interviews, helped me prepare some of my notes, drove us all over London, and generally made my life much easier. Sheelagh, I couldn't have done it without you."

From the Editorial

Welcome to Terminal, a special behind-the-scenes look at the making of Blake's 7. We've wanted to bring you a special of this kind for some time now, and it gives me great pleasure to see it finally reach fruition.

During the three or four years we were putting together the Freedom City Gazette, some of the strongest responses we received from our readers were to our behind-the-scenes interviews, such as Terry Nation (#3), Sheelagh Wells (#4), David Maloney (#5) and Chris Boucher (#6). I think there are two reasons for this response. The first is that while our readers enjoy our conversations with Paul Darrow, Michael Keating, etc., there just aren't that many interviews being done with the writers, directors, producers and so forth. That's a gap we've tried to fill for you.

The other reason for this interest is that people behind the cameras usually have the best stories to tell. N the interviews that follow, you'll find out a lot of things about the making of Blake's 7 that you never knew before, and you hear a few stories that you've probably been heard, certainly not in the past decade anyway.
