Synopsis

original prompt: "For some reason (gathering intelligence somewhere?), Bruce and Clark have to pretend to be a couple, while they don't sleep with each other yet. They're both kinda grumpy about it, but Clark still gets the full charming playboy treatment once Bruce has started pretending to be his date. And he realises he's actually into it."
The story begins after Superman's rebirth (non-canon at the time), with Clark reorienting his life as his civilian identity and his job at the Daily Planet, and attempting to find balance in the Justice League. Bruce is dealing with lingering guilt over his actions in Batman V Superman. The fic contains elements of identity porn due to Clark and Bruce navigating their civilian identities to protect their superhero identities. Bruce manipulates the image of Bruce Wayne, the public figure, as a billionaire playboy. As is common in fake dating works, the characters deal with miscommunication and pining because both believe the other's feelings are entirely pretend.
