Talk:Warped Space/Issues 01-10
Does anyone have access to this zine? This bit combines info from two different conventions: Con Reports: 4th International Star Trek Convention (ISTC) New York, January 10-12, 1975 (p. 23-25) Both were potentially called ISTC, the dates refer to a con that just started, and the "4th annual" happened in February. Were there con reports for both conventions?--æþel (talk) 02:46, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
- The description of the initial issues here disagrees with my copies. The "preview" issue, issue #1, does *not* include the story "Tomorrow?", that's in issue #2. Apparently, when they put together the combined issue 1/2, they moved things around to save space, and they moved "Tomorrow?" into the same pages as the rest of issue #1. In addition, all of the page counts for the rest of #1 are those from 1/2, and do not reflect the page counts from issue #1. In addition, the column referred to here called "Editor's Nook" is untitled in the original preview edition, but gains that title in the combined 1/2 edition. Of course it's possible that my "preview edition" is *not* the true #1, and some/all of the changes from it to the combined 1/2 were made in some other issue #1. (Other changes include hand-drawn headline fonts for titles of all stories, instead of typewritten titles, 4 new pieces of art and the deletion of others, and a much smaller font size -- presumably to reduce the overall page count.) Offhand, this seems unlikely: I purchased my copies of these issues as part of a complete run of the first 19 issues, which included the preview issue, issue #2, and the combined issue #1/2. So it seems unlikely that there is an "issue #1" different from the "preview edition". This is reinforced by the editorial in issue #2 discussing the problems they had with the "previous issue", all of which apply to the Preview Edition, but not to the first part of the Combined Edition.
- Should I just go through and change the content listings shown here to what I have in my copies? Chavey (talk) 01:02, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
