Talk:VivziePop
information to add
I followed Vivz since I was in elementary and she went by Vivzmind on DA and subsequently stopped idolizing her when I was in college due to the mess she had with Dollcreep. There's a lot to unpack here so I'm going to search up some citations and drop them here for future reference. I imagine she's deleted a lot of it though, particularly from her Tumblr, though I have no doubt Dollcreep probably never deleted anything. We don't want the whole page to just be controversy but the parts about controversy are going to need good citations.
- "Debunking" controversies notes: Addison's age was changed on the fan wiki, when viewing history one can find that it used to be 17. I have a screenshot of this somewhere from a few months ago. The snake man the Twitter tries to debunk is indeed an adult character who I remember the face of, though they claim they can't find the character. Twitter mentions posts Vivz made explaining she regrets all those images she made in 2012, cited with screenshots here. Tweet includes some screenshots of discussion about stealing Dollcreep's character, includes nothing from Dollcreep themself.
- Tumblr Zoophobia Crit blog from circa 2016. Should have some info from ppl from during the actual time of criticism, before her popularity with Hazbin Hotel.
- Bad Webcomics- has an account of the stealing controversy, but is rather mean.
- JayJay was a Mistake- Another crit blog, may have something.
- I have first hand experience with what happened with Dollcreep and followed both them and Vivz on Tumblr during the actual controversy and can offer my own memories as a source.
- First hand from Dollcreep
- Other characters Vivz purchased from Dollcreep
- Vivz using a throwaway Tumblr to call out Dollcreep- Vivz replies directly to the throw away account confirming it's her account, not a fake Patchlamb (talk) 22:34, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
Edits Reverted; Expand Positive Aspects
AceDracule, firstly welcome to Fanlore! We love having new editors join and begin editing, I hope you have fun! However, we do not remove large swaths of information from pages without first discussing why one might want to change or remove information from a page. You can discuss ideas for how to better a page inside a page's talk, like here. We also do not remove information based on personally disagreeing with it or it being controversial; I noticed you added a handful of personal comments about "haters" along with the large removal. We tend not to add personal comments directly into articles, but some relevant commentary about references can be added using the note feature. Notes can be added using <ref group="note"> </ref>, where you insert your notation between the quotation marks and it will appear at the bottom of the page under notes.
We can certainly discuss if Vivz's controversies are taking up a disproportional amount of space compared to her accomplishments and fandom (it does take up the majority of her page), but as a large creator controversy is a part of her presence online and I don't think it can be full separated from her. If a page for Zoophobia were created I think we could move the controversy about Zoophobia's art to it, and perhaps support of controversial creators could be lessened (such as not having it's own section and only being a short point at the top of the controversy section), but Dollcreep, Viv'z response, and responses to her response seem to me important aspects to keep. However, her page does need a lot more about positives aspects, and I would love to see a fanart section since she's been a fanartist for a very long time. Her page is a bit lacking and outdated, for example Helluva Boss might now be considered more popular simply by it being serialized on YouTube for a while now, while Hazbin still only has a pilot...
