Is the title correct? "Träumerei" is German and means reverie. "Traumerei" looks like a spelling mistake, the correct spelling without umlaut would be "Traeumerei". --Doro 09:24, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
- Well, "Traumerei" is supposed to be the romanization of トロイメライ, or at least it's the only romanization I could find (and the one everyone else seems to be using). Now I don't exactly.. speak Japanese, so I'm not positive this is even accurate, or if it is whether it's meant to refer to the German word. Can anyone with some Japanese knowledge shed some light on this? --sparc 02:26, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- トロイメライ (toroimerai) is katakana for the German word träumerei (with the umlaut). I know nothing of German spelling or umlauts, but from what Doro's said I suggest moving the page to Träumerei. I'm not surprised that fans are using Traumerei instead; at least in English-speaking fandom, umlauts and such are dropped all the time. (I'm guilty of it too.) But it shouldn't be a problem with the redirect. -- Kylara 05:19, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, dropped umlauts. No one likes our shy little "e". *g* My favorite way of explaining it is imagine the dots on the a/o/u as an "e", lying on its back, half hidden behind the other letter. It's not decorative, just a way of shortening two letters into one: ä=ae, ö=oe, ü=ue. I'm going to move the page and make a redirect for Traeumerei too. --Doro 07:16, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
