Formatting

User:Quaelegit and User:Elf discussed the formatting of story titles on the featured article page when The Weight Collected was nominated. Since the issue was not resolved, I suggest we continue the discussion here. SecurityBreach (talk) 21:53, 8 January 2023 (UTC)

(Quaelegit wrote:' There's inconsistency in how the component stories' titles are formatted (are we putting them in quotes, italics, or leaving them plaintext) and I'd like to fix that but I don't know which format people would prefer. Any opinions?' Elf replied:'I'd prefer quotes around individual story titles for consistency, even though "The Weight" is more than long enough to be a novel on its own. It was never published as a standalone story. However, if they're only mentioned once, I never mind if they're plaintext with a wikilink instead of getting quotes or italics.' Quoting the discussion that has alredy taken place here so readers don't have to go to another page to read it.) SecurityBreach (talk) 06:46, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
Sure, thanks for raising it here! I think Elf removed the italics, so it already looks more consistent to me. I think I'd like to remove the quotes around "And Other Stories" in the subtitle in the lede paragraph (to match the zine title in the opening sentence), and probably also in the contents section section header? Or else add quotes on the story titles in the contents section. Actually, here, I went and made the edit so people can see if they like it. If not, feel free to revert or comment in here! -- Quaelegit (talk) 00:31, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
