Talk:The Sensual World
I know that the cover is at the bottom in the gallery but it is very pretty and I find it more visually appealing for a page if there is something to look at at the top as well. It works as an incentive to scroll down and check out the other covers. Does it bother you? Otherwise I would like to add it back. --Doro 20:47, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
I get it. :-) I'd like to see the galleries at the top, but apparently that gets in the way of something. *pout* But with the gallery at the bottom, there's no real way of knowing they're there unless one scrolls down. I put covers in a gallery when there's more than five or so, otherwise I string the covers along the side. I dunno. Maybe putting them along the side is better? At least the viewer knows to keep looking. What should I aim for? I'm easy. Mrs. Potato Head 21:13, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- I think putting the galleries at the bottom generally works. If something looks better along the side, someone else can change it. Or maybe someone will change it when they add more information about a zine. Adding that particular cover to the template was my way of pointing out that this zine has some beautiful artwork. It doesn't need to be a rule or something. I just thought that in this case it might be a good idea. :) --Doro 21:22, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- I like the galleries at the bottom, but looking back through the history here, I also really liked the single cover image as part of the info box. It did lend a lot more visual interest to the page (and it really is pretty!), and was a good indicator that cover images were a part of this page. I'm not sure it would automatically make people look down for the full gallery, but maybe the caption on the page (not the description on the image itself!) could include something about "see bottom of page for full cover gallery" or something? --Arduinna 21:40, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- I like the galleries at the bottom (or the top) for these reasons: they're easier to add, and they end up the same size (somewhat selfish reasons on my part, at least the former). I like the covers along the side for these reasons: it adds visual image to the whole page and makes one want to scroll down to see the (often) pretties. I think I might go back to stringing them along the edge. Mrs. Potato Head 21:45, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- Just a thought: if the gallery could be at the top, it would satisfy some issues here. I know someone moved a gallery on one I put in earlier this week (Tues? Wed? In any case, a lot of water under the MPH bridge...) as it got in the way of stuff (the template?) I never saw it displayed that way for me and was clueless but gun shy. Is there a way to make the gallery appear at the top without it messing stuff up? Mrs. Potato Head 21:52, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- Is there a way to make the gallery appear at the top without it messing stuff up? I don't think so. :( A gallery has four pictures in a row and depending on what kind of monitor you use, that will get in the way of the info box because the info box doesn't force a break in the row. I changed this page back to the version with the image in the info box and added info about the cover gallery to the thumbnail text.--Doro 12:15, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
