Talk:Suzan Lovett
I filled in a few titles for the covers, but the formatting is off. Anyone have suggestions?--Morgandawn 04:06, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
It would be super if someone hooked up the names of the zines on the covers! The info can be found by looking at the "edit" of the page itself where the gallery is loaded. Mrs. Potato Head 00:46, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
- These covers are so beautiful. Thank you for the gallery. :-) Mrs. Potato Head 00:49, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
Vault of Tomorrow #10
Is it really sure that this image is by Lovett? The signature doesn't look like hers and it isn't her usual style. --Doro 18:17, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, I found the answer myself. According to AWS The front cover is by Lori Knott, which fits the "Lori" signature. :) --Doro 18:22, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you, brain skip with that one. She did the cover for issue #11, not #10. And I don't have that one *pout* Thanks for catching it. My first clue was that there's no people in #10. Mrs. Potato Head 18:24, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
sorting alpha
Yes, I think the zines should be sorted. Every time I add one, I think that, then get distracted. Mrs. Potato Head 22:27, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- I sorted alphabetically.--RatCreature 22:52, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- Awesome, thank you!! --Doro 23:01, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
general category question
I see a couple of prolific zine artists with the Category:Zines, though it is far from consistantly applied. Question: should individual fans get this category at all? I'm thinking "no." --Mrs. Potato Head 14:49, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- It might not be written down, but I always assumed they should not be in the Zine, Print Media, Vidding, etc categories. There are practical considerations--there are hundreds, possibly thousands of fans who might make zines or vids or whatever, and where do you draw the line? It would be better to make sure that influential fans are mentioned and wikilinked from the history/overview fan activity pages, like Zine. For zine artists, maybe it's time to start a Zine Art page and link the big names on it.--æþel 15:26, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- That's what I thought: adding the category to individuals would be inconsistant and overwhelming. But I like the idea of a Influential Zine Art Page with links. --Mrs. Potato Head 16:03, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- How about "Category:Print"? Should artists or editors or zine writers ever have that one? --Mrs. Potato Head 16:07, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- Nope, same issue.--æþel 16:09, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thought so, too, but wanted to make sure. I'll pull those out of "Print" when I see them as well. --Mrs. Potato Head 16:10, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- Nope, same issue.--æþel 16:09, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

Section about zine art in media fandom
I think the whole Art Progression/Influence On Other Artists section should move to another page, probably the Zine Art page. If the content of this section required displaying art by other artists, then it has moved too far from what belongs on a fan page. --Doro 18:30, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
- Discussing how Suzan's art changed should be on her fan page - it is about her and her art. But I can easily remove the image and just link to enedoviel's page so as not to muddy the waters. Will do so next.--MeeDee 19:06, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
- ....and tis done. I also renamed the section so it matches the topic discussed - suzan's unique art style and how fandom reacted to it.--MeeDee 19:15, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
- You've done a heck of a lot of work on this page/subject, MeeDee. It looks fabulous. Thank you! --Mrs. Potato Head 19:30, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

MeeDee, I included the citation needed for the very specific claim that "Suzan's artwork for "Timeless" (included in the gallery below) inspired enednoviel to create her Starsky & Hutch Roman AU drawing The General and the Slave." If that is something the artist said in personal correspondence to you, that should be noted as the citation. If she said it somewhere linkable, it should be linked. I noticed that claim specifially because she didn't say anything about that when she posted the art as WIP to LJ. There she said that it was inspired by the movie Gladiator and someone else said in the comments that it would be a perfect fit for Timeless. --Doro 21:50, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
- That makes much more sense now. I couldn't figure out what was missing. Info has been added here (and on the artist page as well).--MeeDee 22:09, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
fanart used on book covers
So there's the cover of Enterprising Women, the cover of Textual Poachers, and the cover of Cinema Journal (File:47-3 cover.jpg 300x450 pixels.jpg). Do we have more? If there are more examples like this, it would be interesting to showcase them all in one place. I'm not sure what we'd say about them, other than Fanart is so awesome that publishing professionals want it on their covers.\o/--æþel 01:02, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
