Talk:Slideshow
Why is this page copied from wikipedia??? Is this even relevant to fandom? And if there are fannish slideshows, shoudn't those be the focus of this article. Also the 1:1 copy from wikipedia doesn't fit at all with this wiki's formatting. As it is now I think it should be deleted.--Ratcreature 12:03, 13 July 2009 (UTC) ETA: I suspect it is a form of linkspam for the one direct, non-wiki URL in the links, that someone wants to get a higher google rating or something, and thus spams other wikis with wikipedia copy texts with this link included.--Ratcreature 17:31, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think you're right. I'm going to delete all of this and redirect the page to the slideshow section on the Vidding page. --Arduinna 18:06, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
I think this could be its own page. The history section in the vidding article is good, but it's intentionally a brief overview. There are plenty of social factors like people looking down on youtube slideshows that could be given more space here. Franzeska 15:03, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
- And slideshows were an early convention activity that would fit nicely on this page. Kandy Fong's seminal Star Trek one, Gordon Carleton's productions... I think it should be its own page, with links to Vidding. --Mrs. Potato Head 15:10, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
- I've added links to relevant Wikipedia articles and a brief comment about the technology used in the older slideshows. I feel kind of silly, but as time goes on, there will be more and more people who've never used a slide projector, so it's probably worth including. Franzeska 16:16, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
