Could someone check that Tumblr cite? I probably have it wrong. --MPH (talk) 22:49, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

Citation needed

KTJ hi, in Revision as of 21:27, 28 September 2018 you added the snippet line:

The other day I was reading Kipling and I said to myself, "Hey, there's homoerotic subtext in here!" I couldn't decide whether to congratulate myself on my perspicacity or be irritated that I've been conditioned to wonder about that sort of thing. I compromised by chastising myself for temporal parochialism.

Crediting it to "that Arlo Guthrie", but did not put any reference. I'm trying to modify this, but I can't find this text anywhere else on the internet besides Fanlore, and the only name corresponding to the one used in your citation is that of a singer. Could you explain where you got that snippet from please? --Ellakbhesse (talk) 19:09, 18 December 2022 (UTC)

It was indeed that Arlo Guthrie, but until I track down the source, might as well take it out. I can't believe I didn't add the source for reference, but I wouldn't want to credit him with something he didn't say in case he happens to run across it, although knowing him, he'd possibly cop to it and add to the humor even if he didn't say it. Maybe I'll write to him. --KTJ (talk) 23:58, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
So who said that was the singer, but it wasn't? I was confused. Thanks again for the explanation and sorry for any inconvenience --Ellakbhesse (talk) 03:50, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
It was attributed to the singer when I found it. But, when I look into this further, if it turns out that it was not him, I don't want to misattribute it to him. Apologies for the confusion. --KTJ (talk) 03:59, 20 December 2022 (UTC)

What would be the proper way to cite a YouTube video as an example of usage? I'm specifically thinking of this video. — Sobqjmv sphinx (talk), 28 Dec 2022, 20:57 EST Sobqjmv sphinx (talk) 01:57, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
