Talk:Numbered Fandoms

this looks like it should be a general Numerical Fandoms glossary page, but also like a meta essay possibly copied from somewhere else (I googled, but couldn't find it). It seems very POV and doesn't include date ranges.--aethel (talk) 22:15, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

I'm going to rename this page to Numbered Fandoms or Numerical Fandoms if no one has any objections. I did some googling--ninth fandom is mentioned in a few sf fandom places, but doesn't seem very common. The editor who created this page is apparently a member of "Ninth Fandom", so I'm guessing that's why he created that one and not the others. A recent pdf zine mentions he is the editor of a "Ninth Fandom" zine, Synergy. This Canadian Fancyclopedia pdf gets into the debate over numbered fandoms, with date ranges. It also says the business of numbering fandoms fell out of favor in the 1960s.--aethel (talk) 17:09, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
