The name of the club was changed, but it looks like the same club. Merge with Leonard Nimoy National Association of Fans?--æþel 03:45, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

Yes, good idea. --Mrs. Potato Head 13:00, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
I would make Leonard Nimoy Association of Fans the main page, actually, since the LNNAF was an earlier name.--æþel 22:43, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
I agree. Problem is I think that if I start messing with this again, I'm going to spiral it into some double-direct hell pit. --Mrs. Potato Head 22:49, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
Okay, I fixed it by copying and pasting the text back here. :/ Kids, don't try this at home.--æþel 03:06, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

As requested by Mrs. Potato Head (on the LNSTFCCF Talk page), here are the two relevant items from DECK 6. Note that anything not between quote marks is my wording, but any paraphrasing was apparently accurate, because Louise never complained.

The first seven 1970 issues were written as follows (to help you judge when the events might have occurred):

  1. 4: January
  2. 5: February
  3. 6: March
  4. 7: April
  5. 8: late May
  6. 9: mid August
  7. 10: late August

The first item is from Issue #6 (March 1970) -- I don't thank anyone for the info, so it presumably came directly from Louise. Note that it's worded mostly in future tense, so the changes were apparently just then taking place:

Peggye Vickers lives! But her new job doesn’t leave enough time for her to continue as president of the LNNAF. Peggye, who began the club in Feb. 1967, will remain as advisor to the new president, Louise Stange (whose last name rhymes with “tangy”). Louise’s “Capsule 7” chapter will merge with the LNNAF, so the 2000-and-some member club will now be even larger. For several months it had been assumed that Gloria Lillibridge, the vice-president, would assume the presidency, but she felt that taking on a third club would be unfair to the members of all three (how she manages two is beyond me!), so Gloria will stay on as vice-president. There is also a new position on the LNNAF staff: Mrs. S. Cornelie (“Sam”) Cole, president of the Nimoyan-Spock’s Scribes chapter, has been designated by LN himself as National Chapter Director; Sam will keep Louise and LNNAF members informed on chapter activities. Congratulations to Louise and Sam on their new positions, and thanks to Peggye and Gloria for three years of a fantastic club (and many more to come)!

And the second item is from Issue #10 (late August):

I know I said no tv/movie magazine articles would be mentioned in D6, but this one’s too good to pass up: the October TV RADIO MIRROR will have an article on Louise Stange’s visit to Paramount, LN’s Pet Pad, and the Nimoy home. Louise is, of course, the new president of the LNAF. Yes, just one “N” now – the word “National” hardly belongs in the title of such an international club. (Thanks, Allene Nims.)

Thank you, Carol. I added this info to Deck 6 as well. I'll add some of this info to the LNAF page, too. --MPH (talk) 19:05, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
