Timeline of Various Dance Versions
As best as I've worked out so far. Just a place to write it all down b/c I think I might have screwed up on the page. Anyways:
- I was allowed to cover「Ievan Polkka」with VOCALOID2 Hatsune Miku -- posted by Otomania on 2007/09/03 20:55 -- 6.2M views as of August 2023
- Polkkaでネギに祈ってみた【豊作】 -- posted by 農萌 on 2011/07/20 02:01 -- has two separate dances, the leek dance (with Otomania's cover of Ievan Pokka) is the second -- 250k views as of August 2023
- 【第9回MMD杯本選】ミクさんが酔っ払っているようです -- posted by トッポ on 2012/08/17 05:37 -- title translates to "[The 9th MMD Cup Finals] Miku seems drunk" (which explains the title of the PMMM vid) -- links the previous and next video in its description -- 220k views as of August 2023
- 「Ievan Polkka」 Comparison -- posted by トッポ on 2012/08/19 11:21 -- links the previous two videos in its description -- 50k views as of August 2023
- 【MMD】Go home Homura, you are drunk【ハピトリ】HD Version! -- posted by whocares0503 on 7 May 2013 -- Title is pretty clearly a reference to トッポ's mmd, as well as the staging of the characters. -- 1.2M views as of August 2023
- Hatsune Miku "Ievan Polkka" Project Diva Dreamy Theatre (HD) -- posted by PlayerMiku on 19 August 2011 -- NOTE: the video description says "Please note this is not my work." -- NOTE2: The animation was made using the game Hatsune Miku: Project Diva, *not* MMD. -- 37,997,146 views as of August 2023 -- WAIT, is this even a fanvid, or is an unadorned clip from the game?! would explain the much high viewcount and "this is not my work" disclaimer in the video description. (And if it *is* a standard part of
FURTHER RESEARCH:
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hatsune_Miku:_Project_DIVA_(video_game)#Dreamy_Theater -- okay yeah, the Project DIVA video is probably Official Content. I'll have to fix the mainpage. It looks like the Dreamy Theatre version came out in 2010, so it's possible (likely?) that 農萌's dance took inspiration from the game's visuals (the way she throws the leek at the end) as well as Leekspin (tapping the leek at the beginning).
- https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/952820-hatsune-miku-project-diva/50367559 -- i will keep calling it a leek for consistency but as this forum thread and also Wikipedia:Leekspin points out, the vegetable in the original meme (and likely also the miku versions) is actually Wikipedia:Welsh Onion.
Okay, that's all for now. -- Quaelegit (talk) 04:55, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
