Talk:Hermit.org: Proctor's Blake's 7 Pages
Edits
I've moved the paragraph by MeeDee from Hermit Library to this page. However, I'm not at all sure it's strictly correct that Hermit.org may have been the first -- and is certainly the most detailed -- online fanzine listing in any fandom as all of Sarah's zine contents first appeared at the Lysator mailing list, which for many years had public searchable archives. - OK make a note of that - I think it is important to mention that both sites had some data overlap (Hermit had art and reviews), that Hermit is still standing and that it has been Google searchable for many years (an important fact for many fans who are unaware of how much fan data has been available online and acessible continuously for decades). --MeeDee (talk) 03:14, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
Name page
Editors as I went to add a page for Ms. Jean Sheward and looking for information about I came across Blake's 7's fan website hosted on the domain hermit.org. Searching Fanlore I found this page. However, this was not the only site in this url domain that acted as a parent site for other sites, as can be seen on the page about. Leaving this page as Hermit.org when it is for the Judith proctor's Blake's 7 site it can be confusing for some fans who don't have the patience to research in depth. So I would like to call for help, SecurityBreach could you give me a hand? Because I would like to form a page on the parent domain hermit.org myself and explain that it has hosted several other fansites -- Ellakbhesse (talk) 16:11, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
- I think changing the name to Blake's 7: Judith Proctor's pages be the most correct no? -- Ellakbhesse (talk) 16:16, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, that would make sense. Either that, or just 'Judith Proctor's pages'? I'm not sure. --SecurityBreach (talk) 20:43, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
- The title Blake's 7: Judith Proctor's pages makes more sense because this is how it looks on the page when you access the site. There has to be Blake's 7 in there because it's the theme of the page and its title. I vote for the page to be renamed. Could you do this? -- Ellakbhesse (talk) 21:14, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
SecurityBreach I think MPH beat me for "yes that's the name". The second one is perfect cara mía, it was more excellent than I thought, Hermit.org: Proctor's Blake's 7 Pages sounds magnificent. I vote for him, much better than I had thought. Ellakbhesse (talk) 00:36, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
- I think it would also be good to take a look at The Blake's 7 Library which is part of the Proctor's Blake's 7 Pages, but it is being referred to as hosted, because whoever produced the two pages didn't realize that Judith's sites are actually two fansites hosted together on hermit.org -- Ellakbhesse (talk) 00:40, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
- Done! I guess the links to the page need to be sorted out sooner or later. At the moment, the redirect is taking care of them, but if you turn it into a page as you suggested, some of them might have to be changed. I don't know about the other page you mentioned, The Blake's 7 Library, because I know next to nothing about this fandom. Perhaps another editor can help? That would be great! --SecurityBreach (talk) 06:01, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
I don't know anything about fandom either, but it's that thing is looking for that you learn. I edit everything I can, sometimes an outside look helps -- Ellakbhesse (talk) 06:38, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
- SecurityBreach I created the page, but decided to call it Hermit.org (forum) in order to avoid modifying so many links, the biggest problem is that the redirect to Proctor's Blake's 7 Pages uses a

- Yes. that's a lot of links to take care of and I can see it's difficult to sort them out in some cases. A disambuguation is a good idea. Hermit.org (forum) sounds good! --SecurityBreach (talk) 17:29, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
