Redirects for Sections?
I'm not sure about this but do we create redirects for individual sections? I've never come across one before so I thought I'd better ask. SecurityBreach (talk) 19:26, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
- I don't think we should, but I also haven't come across this before. Can anyone open this page to edit it? Because every time I try to open this page, I get sent to the section, and there's no helpful (Redirected from Page Name) link to let me go back to the redirect...
- I think this page should redirect to Han/Seungmin and readers can scroll down to the relevant section. --Auntags (talk) 23:10, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
- I was able to edit the redirect to point to the page instead of the section. I'll leave the attention gardeners flag up for awhile, in case any editors disagree with this change. --Auntags (talk) 22:23, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- Not sure why it'd be a issue. If people are looking for a page on that ship, they will be guided to the right location exactly. How can this be a problem? -JadedPrism (talk) 02:30, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
- IMO, it's really not easy for editors to make changes to a redirect that points to a section, and changes would be needed if anyone edited the name of the section. If someone wants to link to a section, it would be better to use an internal link like this [[Han/Seungmin#Han_Quokka/Puppym|Han Quokka/Puppym]]. An internal link does the exact same thing as a redirect, but it's easier to edit and its more obvious that the link points to a section of the article. Redirects are more useful when there are synonyms or abrevviations for the article name. --Auntags (talk) 22:24, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
