Talk:Glitter & Gold

"Glitter & Gold" by Barnes Courtney got used for a LOT of vids & AMVS. Like, I've known of (and liked) AMV by CrystalL for a while; and looking for it now I found Three other AMVs using the song (and tbh seeming to take very similar principles of editing & drawing on a lot of the same clips from the same shows; probably copying the general idea from eachother? I wonder if that's common lol). Anyways, that first one by Sota has 24M views; I don't know where "AMV community" is so idk if there's been much discussion of it but a lot of people sure have watched it. Maybe it would be better to make a Glitter & Gold disambig page? Although I dont' know anything about most of these multi-show AMVs, not sure I could make useful pages on them (well.... I could make stubs like the RWBY page. Or should it just be one page for all four vids since they seem related??). Anyways, are people okay with making this page fandom-specific, and then making either a disambig page or a page for the song? -- Quaelegit (talk) 03:27, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

I think it might be a good idea to disambig and/or make a page for the song, personally I've been considering making a page for my personal favorite instance of the trend (which isn't even one of the ones you mentioned). Sota at least is, as far as I'm aware, a pretty prominent AMV creator these days and 24M is definitely impressive for the community as a whole. There is also maybe something to be said about the fact a lot of these videos seem to include sound effects to the beat from the shows they're getting footage from, this seems to be a fairly new trend in AMVs especially and I can't back it up but I think might have been popularized by one or more of the Glitter and Gold AMVs. --SCG (talk) 03:44, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
