Talk:Fandom and the Underground
Hey, this edit radically changed the meaning of the sentence, probably because the meaning and intent of the whole section is not clear. The quote that takes up the main part of the section was apparently a comment on a 2012 article (I originally thought it was by the dude who wrote the article) and not the article itself (on the website After Elton by a person who seems to think slash is defined by being based on subtext rather than canon relationships and that the majority of slashers are straight women). I can't tell if the commenter thinks Sterek is canon (it's not, but a lot of fans thought it would be). The fact that someone edited the page to change the framing of the quote from queerbaiting to canon homosexual relationships speaks to the ambiguity of the quote and its framing. Can anyone find the original quote? The website appears to be down and I can only see the article itself on the wayback machine.
We could certainly elaborate on fandom's reaction to both the rise in intentional subtext and canon m/m. Either way, this section needs to be clearer, and a quote about Sterek isn't a good example of fan reactions to canon m/m.--aethel (talk) 17:39, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
