Talk:Buddhism and Fandom

Thoughts for further research

Buddhism is has long traditional roots in South & East Asia, but throughout the 20th century, there was popularitation and adoption throughout the rest of the world. In particular, in the West (definitely the US and UK at least), there were several waves of Buddhist... idk, fads? Given the demographics of who was getting into those movements in the west ("white nerds and hippies" is too reductive, but that's the stereotype), I'd be shocked if there wasn't some overlap with say, historic SF and Zine fandom, but I'm not sure how to research this. So let me know if you have any ideas! -- Quaelegit (talk) 00:55, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
