Question regarding tropes
Wait, why would tropes be removed from the page? -JadedPrism (talk) 05:22, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hey JadedPrism. While I don't have any insight into why Ellakbhesse removed the content, my overall impression is that a list of tags and tropes is overly long for a summary, doesn't really tell the user what the work is about or like, and opens up too much possibility for folks to add more tropes and make it even longer. Fanlore is not IMDB for fics, or TV Tropes for fics.
- For the future, it's good practice to ask an editor why they made an edit first before you revert it unless it is clearly made in bad faith, e.g. spam. It prevents edit warring and keeps everyone on the same page. Putting a message on the talk page is a good first step, but mentioning the editor by name by linking their name in an interwiki link puts your message directly in their inbox. - Pinky G Rocket Kay; you can undo them so it's not turning into that kind of scenario. -JadedPrism (talk) 07:55, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
