Talk:Aragorn & Legolas Friendship
I think this should be a subpage of LOTR page like Aragorn/Legolas slash is. Also, by the conventions I'm familiar with it would be with an ampersand to indicate friendship i.e. Aragorn&Legolas, though I've seen the other too, it's just that with an ampersand it would be shorter. In any case it should be moved to become a subpage, IMO.--Ratcreature 17:14, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- You know, this occured to me five minutes after creating the page:( And I've actually no idea how to convert this to a subpage. I'm such a n00b when it comes to wikis... Michelle 18:52, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- Me too, but I think only gardeners can move/rename pages. Though maybe one could make a new one as a subpager, and edit this one into a redirect?--Ratcreature 20:41, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- I'll just move it, give me half a sec.--Penknife 20:52, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you *bows*. I guess one of these days, I really have to dig into the help pages. So far I'm hoping that practice makes perfect (at some point *g*). Michelle 20:59, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- Only gardeners can move pages, so if you want one moved and there's not one around, just stick Template:AttentionGardeners on the talk page, and it shouldn't take too long for someone to notice it needs moving.--Penknife 21:22, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll keep that in mind! Michelle 18:46, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
The second paragraph talks about how the movie suggests that Aragorn and Legolas may have known each other prior to the Fellowship, while the book doesn't, and then says that this means A&L is a mix of fanon and canon. Does this mean that A&L is always set before the Fellowship? I mean, I was sort of expecting to read something about, I don't know, Aragorn and Legolas braiding each others' hair around the fire while questing to get rid of the ring, or something, but I'm gathering that's outside of this genre. --Betty 18:04, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- A lot of stories are set before FOTR, as I've stated in a paragraph a little further down (I'm not yet sure whether I'm done with the page overall, so if you feel I should clarify anything, shoot *g*). A great percentage of stories has a much younger Aragorn (though while his age is rarely stated, it's usally somewhere between 20 and 30). There are stories set during the War of the Ring and during the Fourth Age, but they're not that many (you can have a look at the categories at my site to get a feel for the percentages: http://www.naiceanilme.com/browse.php?type=categories). And there is actually a story somewhere, where they're braiding each other's hair, though I think that was slash *g*. Michelle 20:09, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
